Prairie Lakes Hospital
Prairie Lakes Healthcare System serves nine counties in northeastern South Dakota, providing a network of care throughout the region. Partnerships with medical facilities, community businesses and educational institutions make Prairie Lakes the area's healthcare provider of choice.
Prairie Lakes is also an employer of choice. With a staff of more than 500 people, Prairie Lakes Healthcare System is one of the largest employers in Watertown. We're dedicated not only to attracting the most skilled healthcare professionals, we're also committed to challenging, training and retaining them.
Established in 1986, as a result of a cooperative effort to consolidate two existing Watertown hospitals, Prairie Lakes Healthcare System has evolved into a regional healthcare center. At the heart of this organization is Prairie Lakes Hospital, an 81-bed, non-denominational healthcare facility.
Each spacious, all-private room at Prairie Lakes Hospital has a large window and television set. Because family members and caregivers are essential in the continuum of patient care, guest beds are available for comfortable overnight stays.
Each of the eight patient rooms in the Critical Care Unit is large enough to accommodate portable X-ray and other diagnostic equipment. The unit also features the most advanced monitoring system available. All nurses in the Critical Care Unit have had extensive training in caring for the critically ill or injured patient.
