    STATUS: Full-Time
    DEPARTMENT: Cardiology Clinic

    DUTIES: Maintains and coordinates providers and patients schedules. Retrieves patient medical information from referring provider if applicable. Prepares patient chart for upcoming visit to ensure all results are available for provider to include utilizing electronic chart history. Registers and admits patients by obtaining relevant patient demographic and insurance information. Answers incoming telephone calls, determines purpose of callers, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel or department. Enters all professional charges into MPM (includes office visits, diagnostic and inpatient). Verifies provider CPT procedure and ICD-9 coding and provides feedback to applicable provider based on chart review.     MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Six months prior hospital/medical or general office experience required. Previous patient registration and computer experience desirable

  2. CARDIOLOGY PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT OR NURSE PRACTITIONER
    Prairie Lakes Healthcare System is actively seeking a full-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for the Cardiology Department. Reporting to the Vice President of Clinic Operations, this position provides specialized care for cardiology patients in accordance with established standards, policies, and scope of practice under physician direction and works in collaboration with physicians and other health professionals.

    Qualified applicant requirements: Current certification from an accredited PA or NP program required. Basic Life Support certification. Meets criteria established by the profession to perform duties defined as those of a NP or PA, South Dakota Controlled Substance Certificate, DEA license required.
    Nurse Practitioner - Holds or is eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in South Dakota.

  3. CATH LAB DIRECTOR
    Prairie Lakes Healthcare System is currently searching for a Cath Lab Director. This position ensures twenty-four responsibility for the quality and delivery of patient care provided in the Cardiovascular Catheterization Lab. The Director establishes the policies, standards and objectives for the provision of services and coordinates with other departments in order to provide maximum level of services to patients and hospital staff. Qualified applicants must be a current RN, Cardiovascular Technologist (RCIS or eligible) or RT with minimum of 3 years clinical experience in an interventional setting. Supervisory experience preferred.

  4. ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY (RDCS) RELIEF
    STATUS: PRN – Relief status with call on weeknights and weekends

    DEPARTMENT: Radiology

    DUTIES: Will perform echocardiography and vascular ultrasound exams. Performs related work as required.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of two years of training in AMA approved school of ultrasound echocardiography/vascular technology. Registry eligible by ARDMS in RVT RDCS. Preference will be given to applicants with Abd/OB/GYN/ and or Vascular Ultrasound experience.



  5. EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT OR NURSE PRACTITIONER
    Prairie Lakes Healthcare System (PLHS), located in Watertown South Dakota, is actively seeking full-time or part-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner providers for the Emergency Department. Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, this position is responsible and accountable for the provision of emergency care and management of patients in collaboration with the physician-directed patient care team.

    Qualified applicant requirements: Graduate from an approved Physician Assistant or Family Nursing Practitioner program; holds or is eligible for certification and licensure in the State of South Dakota. Two (2) years progressively responsible experience required. Must hold or be willing to achieve certification in ACLS, PALS, and ATLS.

  6. LPN - CCU
    DEPARTMENT: CCU
    STATUS: Full Time – (.9)
    Includes weekend and holiday rotation

    POSITION SUMMARY
    Assists Registered Nursing staff and physicians by performing direct and indirect patient care as delegated by the RN or Physician and within the scope of practice of the LPN. Performs unit secretarial and telemetry technician tasks.

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    Provides direct and indirect care to patients utilizing the nursing process in providing patient care. Performs secretarial duties: answering phones, placing calls, order entry, logging patient information, obtaining old records, entering charges and telemetry technician tasks. Assists with cleaning of patient treatment areas. Restocks and orders supplies for patient treatment areas, kitchenettes, nursing station, and supply carts. Cleans instruments and utensils and delivers to sterile processing department. Observes and reports changes in patient’s physical and emotional condition. Performs medication administration and technical skills within the scope of practice of an LPN, such as insertion of IV’s, and NG’s.Provides education and reviews discharge instructions for the patient and family.

    Education and/or Experience
    Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nurse Program. Holds or is eligible for current licensure in the State of South Dakota. CPR required.

  7. REGISTERED NURSE - CCU
    STATUS: Full Time – (.9)

    DUTIES: Responsible for the delivery of total patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation. Maintains standards of professional nursing. Performs related work duties as required. Will be required to take patient assignments in other nursing units as directed.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate from an approved school of nursing and currently licensed in the State of South Dakota or eligible for licensure. One to two years of nursing experience is required. One to two years of CCU experience is preferred. Applicants with ACLS certification preferred or will be necessary to attain. Certification in CPR required.

  8. REGISTERED NURSE - ORTONVILLE UNIT
    STATUS: Full-Time (0.8/64 hours/pp)
    DEPARTMENT: Dialysis – Ortonville Dialysis Unit

    DUTIES: Responsible for delivery of patient care to the Dialysis patient. Evaluates and updates plan of care according to unit standards. Demonstrates understanding, knowledge and compliance of department policies/procedures, and standards which includes veni-puncture dialysis technique, machine problem solving and lab specimens. Assesses and provides education to patients and family. Will performs related duties as required.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate from an approved school of nursing. Currently licensed or eligible for licensure in Minnesota.
    One year experience in Medical/Surgical nursing is preferred; however, willing to train qualified applicants.

    DEPARTMENT: Urology

    POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for nursing care for patients in the urology clinic as directed by medical providers. Responsible for patient flow and assisting providers as necessary with examination. Provides nursing care for urology patients in accordance with established standards, policies, and registered nurse scope of practice.


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Holds or is eligible for licensure in South Dakota. Three to five years progressive clinical experience in urology setting. CPR certification preferred.
