Heroes Behind the Badges Blood Drive

The Watertown Police and Fire Departments will be competing to see who can recruit the most blood donors during the 11th annual Heroes Behind the Badges Blood Drive. The friendly competition between the departments will be held at the Watertown Mall on Thursday, Dec. 20 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday, December 21 from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Donors should use the east entrance.
The public is encouraged to donate blood in honor of the department of their choice. The department with the most donations will receive the traveling trophy and bragging rights for the year.
The first 300 people to donate blood will receive $5 in Beef Bucks compliments of Coteau Hills Cattlemen, Watertown HyVee, and County Fair Food Store. KWAT will broadcast live throughout the event and coffee will be provided to all donors courtesy of Java Central.
Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with signed parent consent form found at cbblifeblood.org), weigh 110 lbs. or more and be in good general health. Please bring an ID with you. It is recommended that a person eat and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating blood. The donation process takes 20–30 minutes.
