PRAIRIE LAKES NAMES NEW VICE PRESIDENT

Prairie Lakes Healthcare System has promoted Mary Petersen to the position of Vice President. Petersen will oversee surgical services and the cath lab. She will also provide leadership for the development of hospital-based services.
Petersen is a registered nurse and has worked at Prairie Lakes for 7 years. Most recently she held the position of Director of Surgical Services. Since joining Prairie Lakes, Petersen has been involved in the expansion of surgical services including the addition of vascular procedures, minimally invasive breast biopsies and kidney biopsies; expanded urology services; and the incorporation of central scheduling.
“Prairie Lakes is committed to expanding the healthcare services offered in the region,” said Jill Fuller, CEO of Prairie Lakes Healthcare System. “As Prairie Lakes continues to grow, Mary will play an instrumental role in the development of specialty medical and surgical services to meet the needs of people living in the communities we serve.”
Prior to joining Prairie Lakes, Petersen served as Administrative Director and CEO of Mallard Pointe Surgical Center. Petersen holds an associate of applied nursing degree from the University of South Dakota and bachelor of arts degree in interdisciplinary studies (business and nursing) from Mount Marty College.
“I look forward to working with key stakeholders in the healthcare field and community to develop services and improve coordination of care to best serve patients and their families,” said Petersen.
Petersen joins the leadership team of Prairie Lakes Healthcare System which includes Fuller; Adam Paul, Chief Financial Officer; Grant Tillett, Chief Information Officer; Shelly Turbak Chief Nursing Officer; Nate Lake, Vice President; and Traci Rabine, Vice President.
