PRAIRIE LAKES NAMES DIRECTOR OF SURGICAL SERVICES POSTED: AUG 07, 2012 Prairie Lakes Healthcare System has named Brenda Kathman, RN, director of surgical services. Kathman will oversee all surgical services at Prairie Lakes including same-day surgery, Mallard Pointe Surgical Center, the post anesthesia care unit, operating rooms and the sterile processing department. Kathman has worked at Prairie Lakes since 2001. Most recently, she served Prairie Lakes as director of the medical, surgical and pediatric inpatient unit. Prior to that, she held the position of surgical services manager for Prairie Lakes Surgical Services and Mallard Pointe Surgical Center. “I look forward to rejoining the surgical services team and working with the staff, doctors and leadership as we continue to grow and expand,” said Kathman. “I have always enjoyed working in the surgical environment and am honored to have the opportunity to lead the department.” Kathman has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing Administration both from South Dakota State University.
