CANCER SUPPORT GROUPS TO MEET IN OCTOBER POSTED: SEP 26, 2012 Prairie Lakes Healthcare System will host two cancer support groups in October. Look Good…Feel Better, a support group for women with cancer, will meet on Monday, October 8 at the Prairie Lakes Cancer Center from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Look Good…Feel Better is a non-medical, brand-neutral public service program that teaches beauty techniques to women cancer patients in active treatment to help them manage the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment. Look Good…Feel Better meets the second Monday of each month. A support group for people affected by multiple myeloma will meet Monday, October 15 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Prairie Lakes Cancer Center. Multiple myeloma is cancer of the plasma cells in bone marrow. The support group will give participants an opportunity to share their concerns with others having similar experiences and discuss the challenges that arise from a multiple myeloma diagnosis. The multiple myeloma support group meets the third Monday of each month. There is no cost to attend these support groups, however, pre-registration is required.
