Caring Club House
Prairie Lakes Healthcare Foundation offers a hospital hospitality house - The Caring Club House - to patients, outpatients, and family members of patients receiving care at Prairie Lakes Healthcare System. The Caring Club House is conveniently located on the Prairie Lakes Healthcare System campus. The Caring Club House offers a home away from home for patients, outpatients, or family members with a loved one in the hospital. Night or day, the doors to the Prairie Lakes Caring Club House will be open to anyone who needs an affordable, comfortable night's stay.
The guests are asked a donation of $10 per person and $3 for each for each additional guest per family per night. This donation is waived for those who are unable to afford it.
The Caring Club House offers private guest rooms, bathrooms, laundry facilities, a kitchen and dining area, a lounge area, telephones, television, and a recreation area. It is the goal of the Prairie Lakes Healthcare Foundation for this handicap-accessible home to look, feel, and function like a home and to provide our guests warmth and comfort during what may be a very difficult time.
Construction of the home began in the fall of 2002 and was completed in May of 2003. The first guests were welcomed October 7, 2003. Prairie Lakes Healthcare Foundation worked together with Lake Area Technical Institute's Building Trades class to build the Caring Club House.
The Caring Club House operates much like a residential home with ongoing expenses such as utility bills, maintenance expenses, and provisions that will help make our guests as comfortable as possible during their stay. Your generous donation will help operate the Caring Club House. It will also help furnish and supply the house with needed amenities. With your help, our guests will enjoy a convenient, comfortable, and affordable place to stay during their medical situation.
A permanent list of Caring Club House campaign contributors is prominently displayed in the Caring Club House in honor of the gracious gifts to this important project.
