When you receive your hospital bill, please keep in mind that you will be receiving separate bills from other healthcare professionals who were/are involved in your care including your doctor/surgeon, anesthesiologist, pathologist, radiologist, etc. The bill you receive from Prairie Lakes Healthcare System includes fees for your hospital room, medications, operative services, radiology tests, medical supplies, nursing care, etc.

As a courtesy to our patients, we submit the charges to your insurance company and/or Medicare. A notification of pending charges is sent to you shortly after your discharge. When we receive payment or denial of coverage from your insurance company, we will send you a statement reflecting your balance due.
