Prairie Lakes Healthcare Systems welcomes volunteers of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. Interested parties should enjoy providing guidance and assistance to others and appreciate a social setting.

Volunteers generally work a 4 hour shift with most areas offering a morning and afternoon shift. Volunteers may choose to work as little as one day a month to several days per week. Orientation and training are provided until you reach your comfort level. Prairie Lakes offers several benefits to volunteers, including: How to Become a Volunteer Volunteer applicants will meet with a Prairie Lakes volunteer coordinator. All necessary paperwork will be reviewed and completed. Volunteers must agree to adhere to a strict confidentiality policy. Placement decisions in available areas will take into consideration your desires, interests, skill set and personality. Hospice Volunteering Trained Hospice volunteers provide various services for Hospice patients and their families. Services might include companionship, friendly visits, letter writing, meal preparation, reading or spiritual care. Some volunteers choose to assist staff with clerical help, craft projects, or phone calls. Hospice matches the volunteers needs, experience, and talents with the postion for him or her.
