HeartCode BLS uses a variety of eLearning assets such as dramatizations, eSimulations, animations, self-directed learning, and interactive activities to teach students BLS knowledge and skills.
The HeartCode® BLS Program has 2 components: an online portion and an instructor-led classroom skills validation. HeartCode BLS uses a variety of eLearning assets such as dramatizations, eSimulations, animations, self-directed learning, and interactive activities to teach students BLS knowledge and skills.
PLHS employees will be issued course key to access the online portion after completing your online registration on Extranet; you will receive an email from "elearning.heart.org" with link and course key information.
Non-Employees will need to go to https://elearning.heart.org/courses/25 to purchase Heartcode BLS course key to access online portion.
Important: You must complete the online portion first then must print the certificate of completion at the end of the online portion. You will need to give this to your instructor when you attend the skills validation portion. It is necessary to show that you completed the online portion and passed the exam. If you do not have your certificate of completion, you will not be able to complete the skills practice and testing of the course.
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing. You will be practicing skills that require working on your hands and knees, bending, standing, and lifting. If you have physical conditions that might prevent you from participating in the course, please inform the instructors when you arrive for the session. The instructor will work to accommodate your needs within the stated course completion requirements. In the event that you are unable to attend, a courtesy call is appreciated.
Thank you for being proactive and being prepared for emergency situations needing life saving skills, you can make a difference!
