Prairie Lakes Elects New Board Members And Officers

The Prairie Lakes Healthcare System Board of Directors elected two new board members to serve three year terms at its annual meeting in May: Tom LaBrie and Robb Peterson.

“As Prairie Lakes continues to grow and expand services to meet the needs of the region it is important that our board makeup is reflective of the communities we serve,” said Jill Fuller, CEO of Prairie Lakes Healthcare System. “Both Tom and Robb bring important perspectives to the board. Tom will provide essential input on how Prairie Lakes can best serve the communities in the region and Robb brings a vital industry voice to the table.”

LaBrie is market president for Dacotah Bank Clark and oversees operations at Clark, Willow Lake and Henry. He has worked for Dacotah Bank since 1976. LaBrie is also a licensed SD real estate broker and insurance agent. 

LaBrie is an active member of the Clark community, involved in community affairs, economic development, events and activities. He is a member of Clark Rotary Club and St. Michael’s Men’s Club. LaBrie works as a consultant for Clark Industrial Development Corporation. His past and present board involvement includes: board member and recent president of Clark Housing Development, board member of Greater Clark Area Community Foundation, board member of Dakota Granite, Inc. of Milbank, prior board member of Inter-Lakes Community Action, Inc. of Madison and prior board member on the Development Board of the Sisters of the Presentation in Aberdeen.

LaBrie and his wife, Brenda, have three children, Alexandra, Emily and Colin. 

Peterson has been plant manager for Minnesota Rubber and Plastics in Watertown since 2010. Prior to moving to Watertown, he worked globally for General Motors on engineering assignments and worked for Fruedenberg-NOK in plant management. Peterson also owns and operates a consulting firm, Advantage Solutions.

Peterson is involved in many local, state and national organizations including Watertown Rotary Club, Manufacturing Council, H20-20 Visioning Project Implementation Committee, 4-H and St. Martin’s Lutheran Church. His board involvement includes: chairman of Industry Advisory Board for the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, board member Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce, board member South Dakota Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and member of advisory board for Lake Area Tech Precision Machining department.

Peterson and his wife, Jodi, have two children, Quaid and Rayleigh.

The Prairie Lakes Healthcare System Board of Directors also elected the following members to leadership positions: Chairman, Mark Roby of the Watertown Public Opinion; Vice Chairman, Geoff Heig retired from Watertown Municipal Utilities; Secretary, Jim Redlinger of Redlinger Brothers Plumbing & Heating; and Treasurer, Dustin Flatten of Active Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. 

Two board members were re-elected to serve additional three year terms: Dr. Cathy Gerrish of Brown Clinic and Dr. Gerald Rieber of Glacial Lakes Orthopaedics.

The Prairie Lakes Healthcare System Board of Directors is comprised of 15 volunteer community members who are dedicated to fulfilling the mission, vision and values of Prairie Lakes Healthcare System, an independent, not-for-profit, regional healthcare center.
