What is the patient portal?
The Prairie Lakes Healthcare System patient portal is an online health management tool that includes clinical data from your electronic medical record.

If you are admitted as an inpatient at Prairie Lakes Hospital, once you are discharged you will be able to view the following information online:

  • Allergies
  • Immunizations
  • Active and inactive medications
  • Current and past health concerns
  • Certain test results

A limited number of same-day test and procedure results will also be available online.

Please note, you will be able to access information from hospital inpatient stays and limited same-day test and procedure results. Information from visits to the Cancer Center and clinics (Cardiology Clinic, Nephrology Clinic, Urology Clinic, Pulmonology Clinic, Ear, Nose & Throat Clinic, General Surgery Clinic and Dermatology Clinic) will not be available online.

How do I access the patient portal once I have completed the registration set-up process?
Once you have completed the registration process, you can access your online medical record anytime at www.prairielakes.com/myrecord. Remember, use this link only after you have received a portal invite via email and completed the sign-up process.

Do I need special equipment?
No. All you need is access to a computer, an email account that matches the one provided during hospital registration, and an internet connection.

Can my family/friends access the information found on my portal?
Yes, but only if give them permission. As a Prairie Lakes patient, you may choose to give an authorized representative access to specific hospital visits. You will be will asked this information during the registration process.

Who should I contact if I have trouble logging in or accessing the Prairie Lakes patient portal?
If you have trouble logging in or accessing Prairie Lakes patient portal, call 605-882-7620 during regular business hours.

Will I receive emails after each admission to the hospital?
No. After each admission to the hospital a new summary of care document will automatically post to your patient portal. You may access the document any time after you are discharged. Once the initial email has been sent, the patient or authorized representative will not be sent new emails with each visit.

What if I have questions about my medical records?
If you have questions about the information contained in your online medical record or feel that an error has been made, please contact Prairie Lakes Health Information department at 605-882-7830.

If you have questions or concerns regarding a medical condition, test result or other information related to your health, please contact your personal doctor.
