Billing and Insurance

At Prairie Lakes Healthcare System, we're here to serve you before, during, and after your hospitalization or outpatient procedure. We are committed to providing you with the best possible healthcare, including convenient and reliable billing services.

When you receive your hospital bill, please keep in mind that you will be receiving separate bills from other healthcare professionals involved in your care, including your doctor/surgeon, anesthesiologist, pathologist, radiologist, etc. The bill you receive from Prairie Lakes Healthcare System includes fees for your hospital room, medications, operative services, radiology tests, medical supplies, nursing care, etc.

As a courtesy to our patients, we submit the charges to your insurance company and/or Medicare. A notification of pending charges is sent to you shortly after your discharge. When we receive payment or denial of coverage from your insurance company, we will send you a statement reflecting your balance due.
