Menopause is the one thing that effects all women of a certain age, but many are too embarrassed to talk about!
Lindsey Barthel, DNP at Prairie Lakes Brown Clinic recently sat down with Watertown Radio's KWAT to discuss menopause and other common health concerns for woman in the hopes of encouraging others to speak more openly about their conditions.
Lindsey explains the rising popularity of social media has given women access to more information about their symptoms, guidelines for preventative testing/screening, and connection to others going through similar experiences.

- Hot Flashes
- Changes in Weight
- Sleep Issues
- Mood Swings
- Bladder Health Changes
There are things you can do to manage these symptoms at home:
- Follow a healthy diet - the Mediterranean diet, especially
- Exercise daily - at least 30 minutes to cardiovascular activity
- Ensure you are receiving plenty of calcium
- Try to get as much sleep each night as possible
Three things you can do today to implement a healthier lifestyle:
- Exercise 30 minutes every day to increase your heart rate and improve cardiovascular health
- Implement a healthy diet
- Sleep 7-8 hours each night
